Metal wall installation
Trees have history and enduringness. They are a shelter and stronghold. The installation is a gift from a family in dedication to their matriarch and patriarch’s love of their family and midwest synagogue congregation. Descended from Holocaust survivors who hid in the forest of Czechoslovakia, their story of survival, humility, fortitude, and reconstruction is embodied in illuminated trees pointing upward in hope. The Hebrew letter, “shin”, from the word, “shaddai”, “almighty”, holds personal significance to the family as well as their faith.
